I made this brooch for Carolyn’s tactile textile challenge and it was quite a challenge for me. I thought it would be fairly easy to just sew a few layers of fabric then sew a few embellishments to it, but I changed the layers so many times and I just couldn’t make up my mind where to add the bits and bobs so it has taken me ages to finish. The coins are actually quite fragile so the bit with the hole in it is easily snapped off.
Fabric pieces, black nylon mesh, cloisonné beads, sequins, seed beads, fibres, small piece of chain, 3 coin embellishments, brooch back, black thread
The CBC forum will be 7 years young on 12th March so my bookmarks for the March bookmark swap say just that! Check out the CBC forum for the birthday bash weekend activities – it should be fun.
These were made using Tim Holtz alcohol ink splatter technique.
Inks: various alcohol inks, black document ink
Stamps: Tim Holtz foam stamps Chronicles, Cute companions Patchwork numbers (years young), 7 (unknown)
Card: white glossy, black
Other: can compressed air, black ribbon with beads
I have just finished these for the CBC ATC swap theme of women. The calligraphy translates to beauty and grace (I think). I made the background papers by spraying colours onto watercolour paper but I made them months ago and now can’t remember which colours I used.
Inks: black document ink
Colour on images: Prisma pencils and neon green and orange pens, highlighted small areas with a gelly roll glitter pen (with aqua brush)
Stamps: Ist Oriental woman stamp (unknown origin), 2nd Oriental woman stamp from non-sequitur – Oriental collage Ellements (52C), and Chinese calligraphy stamp collection from Barbara Aria, Stampin up background stamp ‘sanded’ (for the lines on the first ATC)
Plus a couple of fan stickers.
I made these today for the CBC bookmark swap and they also fit the CBC Crew Challenge Pens, pencils and paint.
Ink: white stazon
Pens/pencils: Prisma pencils, copper pen and Sakura gelly roll glitter pens
Materials: black card, gold eyelet, black ribbon, tube cloisonné beads, laminate
Stamps: Oriental bookmark stamps from Graphicus
Just stamp the bookmarks in white (on black card) and colour the white parts with Prismas and pens. use a water brush to lightly brush a glittery effect over parts (sakura pens scribbled onto paper and pick up the glitter using water brush) then laminate, punch a whole for eyelet, add ribbon and beads.
