Vintage ATCs

I have made three different ATCs for the ukstampers ATC swap for May. This month’s theme is Vintage; which can mean different things to different people…so….

vintageCar

This is a vintage car stamped onto vellum and stuck onto backing paper with the sign, in a lighter colour, underneath so it stands out. The top and bottom edges are just cut paper.

Ink: black documents ink
Card: beige vellum, paper from Hot off the press-Heritage
Stamp: B line designs car cube

vintagePhoto

This one is a vintage photo. I rubbed Distress ink over white glossy card then inked the stamp with espresso, wiped a little off and added caramel fondant then stamped onto the card. I layered the image over some script vellum and ivory card, and added photo corners cut form scrap paper. I added a touch of pink to her shoes and belt using a copic marker and tiny gem.

Inks: Adirondack espresso, Stampin up caramel fondant, Distress ink antique linen
Card: glossy white, ivory, script vellum, scrap brown wood grain paper
Stamp: ballet dancer (unknown)
Other: pink gem and copic marker tender pink

vintageWine

Vintage wine was stamped then coloured using water colour pencils. I added a label, vellum, brad and a sprig with grapes to embellish it. The grapes are highlighted with a little Diamond glaze. I edged the ATC with gold wax and smudge a little wax over it to age it a little.

Inks: black document ink, versamark with gold embossing powder
Card: white, Label: green card embossed and rubbed with gold wax, gold paper embossed
Stamps: Aspects of design 6 – nature, WS designs wine set
Other: beige vellum, bronze brad, metallic rub on wax, Diamond glaze

Icon tag

icon

eye

I made so many mistakes with this tag, for the Sunday challenge No. 41 on ukstampers theme ‘I’ for icon, but I am quite pleased with the results anyway. The coloured eye was made in photoshop (tutorial here)and the ‘eye’ con is the false eyelashes. Wow are they sticky! You can’t really tell from the photograph but there are small flourishes on the ‘C’ stamped in yellow but as the crackle glaze dried the yellowness disappeared into the magenta. I also stamped some diamonds down the right hand side and embossed them in ochre but as the embossing powder melted the colour disappeared. It may be because I have used watercolour paper and it is very absorbent.
Inks: the colours on the watercolour paper are Stamp Zia neon yellow, and Ecoline magenta (diluted), Brilliance sunflower yellow with ochre embossing powder
Card: watercolour card
Stamps: Dovecraft Fantasy emblems flourish, Elusive images Diamond art [you can’t really see the stamping though]
Other: False eyelashes, grunge board letters, wire and beads, Tim Holtz borders mask, Crackle paint on the ‘I’, bottle cap with punched out piece of card, stampin up eyelet, crackle glaze

N for numbers tag

Numbers

Here is my tag for the ukstampers challenge No. 40 ‘N’ is for number. The inspiration behind my tag is the equation for a PERFECT number. A perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of it’s proper positive divisors. For even numbers the equation is 2n-1 (2n – 1) but are there any odd perfect numbers? No I am not that clever – I just Googled it.

Inks: Versafine Onyx black, Distress ink Pine needles, Black soot and Frayed burlap,
Card: Ivory
Stamps: Paperartsy Man of numbers plate 6
Other: Distress crackle paint Frayed burlap, glossy accents, grunge board numbers, note pad page and black pen, pewter eyelet

May ATC swap sketch

the sketch
I am the host for the may ATC swap at CBC and this month instead of a topic we will be using the sketch as a template. You can rotate, skew, flip, reduce size or interpret it as you wish as long as the template can be seen in some shape or form.

OkeyDokeyMay09

Here are my two for the swap. The first one: stamps from Design house Deco stamp sheet coloured with copics and stickles. The second one: Stamps from The artistic stamper Seaside No.1 coloured with copics and stickles, sun charm. They both have a bit of 3D layering.

Hoppy Anniversary Card

MarkKim09Hoppy

It is Mark and Kim’s wedding anniversary next week and I know they have been working on their garden pond lately so I made this card for them – I just love the frogs/toads expressions!

Stamps: Penny black toadily transparent
Other: frog charm, linen thread coloured with ink, heart gem, printed greeting

Black birthday ticket card

birthdayTicket2

This card is similar to one I made before for Stuart, this one is for Cameron, his big brother who will be 14 soon. I stamped the background and grunged it up a little using the same colours found in the other paper. The metal corners are coloured with alcohol inks.

Inks: Distress inks weathered wood, black soot, mustard seed and a touch of dried marigold
Card: Black, white, Lazy daisy paper
Stamps: Stampin up canvas back ground
Other: brads, metal corners, alcohol inks, printed ticket (CBC downloads)

Love Birds

birds

This is my third attempt at this tag as I kept getting inks fingers prints on it until I used clear embossing powder to seal the ink. It is for the ukstampers challenge B for birds tag.
Techniques used are masking, selective inking and acetate overlay. The birds and centre are stamped under the overlay and stamped again and cut out then glued to the top of the overlay giving a 3d effect.

Inks: Adirondack denim with clear embossing powder
Card: white card, acetate
Stamps: Kodoma: Asian calligraphy love, Chinese border and Blue willow, Non-sequitur Cranes sheet.
Other: eyelet

A pair of pears

pairOfPears

Here is my entry for Joanne’s challenge at CBC – Five-a-day. I don’t use my pear stamp all that often so it was fun thinking of a way to use it for the challenge.

Inks: black document ink, water colour pencils to colour pears
Card: watercolour paper, black card, ivory card, Bo-Bunny ‘my darling motion’
Stamps: Non-sequitur – oriental collage elements (52C) pear
