The Artistic Stamper’s new creative team blog has a monthly challenge and the challenge for August is to make a piece of art incorporating the theme ‘Something Old, Something New’. For the Old part I have used an old necklace bought from an antique fair some time ago (bits have already been taken off and used on other projects – see Gothic arch) and for the New part I have used Tim Holtz fragments – charms. The charms have a small stamped image glued to some background paper which a charm fragment was used to cover them. This was then coloured using alcohol inks and tiny arrow and cogs glued to the front (also coloured with alcohol inks). One of the stamps used was from The Artistic Stamper Men’s plate (selectively stamped ‘A minute saved is a minute gained’).
