I was asked to make a white poppy similar to the large red poppy I made a while back so I had to try and remember how I did it. If, like me, you did not know the significance of the white poppy you can read about it here. I had been keeping this box I made ages ago until I could use it (I knew it would come in handy one day) and with a little tissue paper inside the white poppy fits in nicely. I had forgotten just how difficult it is to crochet with that black, eyelash yarn. I had used a larger hook size for the red poppy but thought a 3.5mm hook would make the white version a little more delicate. The back has a brooch fixture added.

The box was made by stamping out images on card using embossing powder the coloured with stickles. Each side was then glued together to make the hexagonal box. The lid was made using a mandala stamp, stamped 3 times then cut out and put together (3d) using tiny sticky pads. The ribbon was thread through the bottom pads with a knot at each side. Hope she likes it.
