About me

Welcome to Cardesque – my blog where I share my creative journey.  I am Jackie Elwin, a  60+ married housewife  who whiles away the hours playing with pens, paper, paints, stamps and pretty card.  Back in 1986 I broke my back in an RTA resulting in paraplegia.  Over the years, I have had many hobbies but in 2005 my mum showed me various embossing techniques   which sparked my interest in card making.  My card making hobby soon encompassed scrap-booking and art journalling too.  Often the same  techniques used in card making can be use on many other projects so I now dabble in all sorts of crafts.  My inspiration comes from many places: books, blogs, DVDs, magazines, you tube, quotes, songs, colour combinations, natural pattern formations, nature, wildlife and even microbes.   Sometimes I just doodle, sometimes I join in challenges, and sometimes I just spill my thoughts onto the page.  Learning new techniques piques my interest in other art forms and so my arty crafty journey continues.

When I am not crafting you will find me pottering about in the garden.  To read about my gardening trials and triumphs you can find my garden blog below.
