Bamboo tile pendant

TeganDominoPendant

It is Tegan’s birthday today so I made her a bamboo tile pendant. It is two bamboo tiles inked and stamped with a paper concertina inside with the Happy Birthday greeting.

TeganDominoOpen

The closure is just a piece of elastic cord sewn together, which slides on and off, with an embellishment to hide the join. The leather thong has sliding knots so she can adjust it to the perfect size. It also means it can be dismantled easily if she wants to use the component parts for something else.

Inks: alcohol inks red pepper and yellow, gold accent pen and Krylon pilot pen, black Stazon

Stamp: parts off Michael Strong’s Cloisonné vase

Other: black Cloisonné beads, red bead and gold coloured spacer beads, black leather thong, black elastic cord, gold embellishment, mod podge to seal.

Valentine card

blueHarry09

Ok so I don’t really agree with the concept of Valentine’s day but my husband and I do exchange cards (just so we can say we received one!).  I made this one to fit Carolyn’s CBC challenge – what no red. The blue wire and bead heart is recycled from a previous wedding invite. It may be recycled again once Valentine’s day is over.

Ink: dark blue Marvy pen
Stamps: Michael Strong’s Cloisonné Mosaic Frame, PapertreyInk Out on a limb sentiments
Other: blue ribbon, gems, wire and bead heart

Postcard challenge – Iceland

Postcard Iceland

Just a bit of fun for the UKstampers Sunday challenge 25- postcard with the theme Iceland.
The stamped bits are the Urgent and the sheep.

Inks: Brilliance rocket red, versamark onyx black, Pretty color gray
Stamps: urgent Ephemera from Artistic stamper, sheep aspects of design 25 rambling 1
The background is a photo taken in Scotland in the snow.
Jumper is a picture off the web.

Pocket full of posies challenge

Pat09

It is my friend Pat’s birthday on Friday so I made her card to fit this CBCC080 challenge. The pocket is made from bright yellow vellum and you pull the flower up to reveal the message.

Inks: Versafine onyx black, Colorbox fluid chalk sunflower yellow
Stamps: Stampin up birthday wishes, Sugar Nellie flowers and kitty, The Artistic stamper Stitchels Daisy dot and Dashy dot

Postcard challenge – Australia

AustraliaPostcard

Here is my take on the UK stampers challenge No. 24: postcard theme – Australia. The stamped bits include the background grape vine, the little leaves and grapes over the edge of the photo and also on the wine label to cover up the ‘selected by Tesco’.

Inks and colours: Versafine onyx black, Colorbox chalk ink maroon, prismacolor pencils and sansador
Stamps: Aspects of design 6 Nature
Card: white, glossy photo card
In the photo: Australian red wine, glass, garden, Coca Cola the Koala

Template Challenge

StuartButton09

Two cards I made for friends birthdays (they are brothers and have the same birthday but a year apart) using Clare’s template for the CBCC081 template challenge.

Inks: Tim Holtz Distress inks black soot and weathered wood, just to smudge around the edges.
Card: DCWV The Far East stack, white, black
Blue skeleton leaves and circles.

Thunderbirds ARE GO

thunderbirds

Another scrapbook page about our garden. It was also made for the CBC crew challenge ‘stars and stripes’ – the stars are on the 4 silver brads (the photo makes one look like a white brad) and the stripes are ribbon. We were looking after our friends son while they were away and as you can see – he loves the Thunderbirds!

The background paper is from Stampin up’s Summer picnic, and the ribbons are from Cosmo cricket.

Water colour dragonfly

dragonflyTornEdges1

I made this card a few days ago for a friend’s birthday using the water colour technique on Tim Holtz blog September 2008 technique challenge

Inks: Adirondack; red pepper, bottle, lettuce, oregano, stream, stonewashed, terra cotta and wild plum, and Archival coffee for the quote
Stamps: Lavinia stamps dandelion, Stampin up Pocket silhouettes and a free dragonfly stamp from craft stamper (I think)
Cards stock: old olive, plain white and scraps of brown paper
The scrap of paper and a beige brad have been coated in embossing ink and distress powder to give a nice texture to the embellishment..

Levis 501

501Levis.SML

This postcard was made for the ukstampers Sunday challenge No.23; theme The USA. I stamped white card with a denim background stamp and folded the top over to look like a hem, poked holes along to look like a stitch line. The numbers are stamped, coloured then cut out. White glitter was added to the stars (spangled stars – get it?). The logos were found on the Internet and printed out. Two coppery coloured rivets were added as embellishments.

Inks: Adirondack stonewashed and denim, versafine black
Stamps: denim unknown origin, Cute companions patchwork numbers
Card: white cardstock
Other materials: rivets, prisma pencils and sansador
