Valentine card

blueHarry09

Ok so I don’t really agree with the concept of Valentine’s day but my husband and I do exchange cards (just so we can say we received one!).  I made this one to fit Carolyn’s CBC challenge – what no red. The blue wire and bead heart is recycled from a previous wedding invite. It may be recycled again once Valentine’s day is over.

Ink: dark blue Marvy pen
Stamps: Michael Strong’s Cloisonné Mosaic Frame, PapertreyInk Out on a limb sentiments
Other: blue ribbon, gems, wire and bead heart

Two cards I made for friends birthdays (they are brothers and have the same birthday but a year apart) using Clare’s template for the CBCC081 template challenge.

Card: DCWV The Far East stack, white, black
Blue skeleton leaves and circles.

Thunderbirds ARE GO

thunderbirds

Another scrapbook page about our garden. It was also made for the CBC crew challenge ‘stars and stripes’ – the stars are on the 4 silver brads (the photo makes one look like a white brad) and the stripes are ribbon. We were looking after our friends son while they were away and as you can see – he loves the Thunderbirds!

The background paper is from Stampin up’s Summer picnic, and the ribbons are from Cosmo cricket.

Water colour dragonfly

dragonflyTornEdges1

I made this card a few days ago for a friend’s birthday using the water colour technique on Tim Holtz blog September 2008 technique challenge

Inks: Adirondack; red pepper, bottle, lettuce, oregano, stream, stonewashed, terra cotta and wild plum, and Archival coffee for the quote
Stamps: Lavinia stamps dandelion, Stampin up Pocket silhouettes and a free dragonfly stamp from craft stamper (I think)
Cards stock: old olive, plain white and scraps of brown paper
The scrap of paper and a beige brad have been coated in embossing ink and distress powder to give a nice texture to the embellishment..

Levis 501

501Levis.SML

This postcard was made for the ukstampers Sunday challenge No.23; theme The USA. I stamped white card with a denim background stamp and folded the top over to look like a hem, poked holes along to look like a stitch line. The numbers are stamped, coloured then cut out. White glitter was added to the stars (spangled stars – get it?). The logos were found on the Internet and printed out. Two coppery coloured rivets were added as embellishments.

Inks: Adirondack stonewashed and denim, versafine black
Stamps: denim unknown origin, Cute companions patchwork numbers
Card: white cardstock
Other materials: rivets, prisma pencils and sansador

Fairy Forest scrapbook double layout

fairyVerseSML

fairyDoorOpenSML

Here is my double layout which I finally managed to take photos of – my camera has gone kaput and I had to borrow my husband’s which is a newer model and works slightly differently.
The first photo was taken in a beautiful forest at Gosford Estate. and The second photo is of Maranna, my lost wax bronze sculpture. She now lives in the conservatory after a frisky fox knocked her over and she suffered a broken shoulder and wrist (all better now though). The verses are taken from the certificate that authenticates the sculpture and the magic fairy coin has her limited edition number on the back so is kept hidden behind the fairy door.Inks: Tim Holtz distress inks antique linen and frayed burlap, alcohol ink black
Stamps: house mouse fall commuters, Dovecraft fantasy emblems, tapestry stamps and Lavinia stamps (small leaves on the door)
Card: DCWV Once upon a time stack, BitsNPieces woodgrain paper
Other: dragonfly charm, bookplate, key, dried leaves and flowers from my garden, button, Tim Holtz grunge board elements, distress embossing powder

ATC swap theme WOMEN

womanSmlJPG

I have just finished these for the CBC ATC swap theme of women. The calligraphy translates to beauty and grace (I think). I made the background papers by spraying colours onto watercolour paper but I made them months ago and now can’t remember which colours I used.

Inks: black document ink
Colour on images: Prisma pencils and neon green and orange pens, highlighted small areas with a gelly roll glitter pen (with aqua brush)
Stamps: Ist Oriental woman stamp (unknown origin), 2nd Oriental woman stamp from non-sequitur – Oriental collage Ellements (52C), and Chinese calligraphy stamp collection from Barbara Aria, Stampin up background stamp ‘sanded’ (for the lines on the first ATC)
Plus a couple of fan stickers.
