Anniversary card

vellumFansSml

This hasn’t been an easy year for mum and dad, let’s hope that things improve soon.
Inks:  Versamark with gold embossing powder
Card:  white card, patterned vellum by Kameo cards (old stock so may not be available now)
Stamp:  Stampin up Cheer and wishes
Other:  tiny gold bradlets, copic pens to colour behind the vellum, gold pilot pen to edge vellum, tiny dots of gold stickles, 3D pads
Note:  if you run vellum through your xyron machine it will adhere invisibly – just make sure you run your thumbs along the edges to take off any tiny remnants of the glue.

I love doing these brayered cards and this is a nice one for a female of any age group.  The project is from The craft stamper mag, April 2009 and at the last crop a few of the other ladies and I had a bit of a brayer workshop.  I added the punched leaves later.

Inks:  Memento Tuxedo black, Adirondack Red pepper, Cranberry and eggplant, Distress ink Mustard seed, Stampin up Mellow moss
Card:  white card, black card, green and black vellum
Stamps:  Lavinia stamps flower fairy, fern leaf, folliage and trailing ivy corner, (butterflies stamp was borrowed)
Other:  punched butterfly and leaves to embellish, fantasy film for fairy wings, dots of glitter pen

I made this for my great friends who are having way too much fun in the sun!
This time I left a space at the top corner when I brayered the blues and greens to emulate the suns rays coming through the water.  It was misted with a little water to keep it misty looking and I masked some of the sea weed so the sea horse looks like it is swimming behind it.
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo black, Stampin up Bashful blue, Mellow moss and Sage shadow, Adirondack Slate and woodlands
Card:  white, black, holographic aqua
Stamps:  Lavinia stamps, Mermaid silhouette, Sea creatures and scene, grasses fro English Stamp Co. Oriental plate 3
Other:  netting, mixed fibres, glitter pen, gen clusters, Bedazzles electric slide, Diamond glaze

This took a little practice but I finally achieved the look I was aiming for: a misty sunset glow in a woodland.  I brayered white coated card with Big and juicy Spice ink, embossed it using a Cuttle bug folder then using direct to paper technique swiped the brown across the branches.  To get the misty look I sprayed it with a fine mist of water with a little gold powder then left it to dry.

Inks:  Big and Juicy Spice, Adirondack Woodland
Card:  white coated card, green textured, brown pearlised
Stamp:  Stampin up Cheers and wishes
Other:  brown linen thread, Camelot Rose (tinted with a little Spice ink to match), gold powder

Having read the October issue of the Craft Stamper magazine I was reminded of a technique I’ve used before so I used it here for an anniversary card.  Joanne Wardle used similar colours but I have used them vertically instead of horizontally so it is not meant to be a sunset just Autumnal colours.  Although I love trying out new techniques it is nice to re-visit some older ones.

Inks:  Distress inks Barn door and Mustard seed, Memento black
Card:  white silk
Stamps:  Stampin up Cheers and wishes, and Autumn days, swirl
Other:  post it notes to mask

Inspiration for this card came from the CBC forum birthday challenge where the challenge was to create a card using only one colour. Some people made classy all white cards that I really liked for not only the simplicity but also the elegance of the effect. For Chris and Grace’s wedding anniversary this year I made this using only ivory (with gold on the greeting). The photo however adds a slightly strange colour to the ivory ribbon.

Inks: versamark embossing ink with gold powder
Card: ivory card, cotton white broderie (which looks more ivory than white), ivory card (through embossing folder)
Stamp: Stampin up Cheer and wishes
Other: ivory ribbon (wired), Prima flowers Innocence collection, Cuttlebug embossing folder Textile

I found this tutorial the other day and loved the card Michelle made so much that I just had to have a go for my mum’s birthday card. I didn’t have the same stamps or colours (nothing new there!) but I used her overall design. Mine is not nearly as good as Michelle’s but I would definitely try this again. (thank you for sharing Michelle)

Inks: Brilliance pearlescent yellow, Adirondack stream and terra cotta, Archival coffee, Versafine onyx black, Stampin up certainly celery and cream caramel, dark green, Distress ink weathered wood
Card: black, white, teal

Other: Silver brads

This cute little car stamp by Mabel Lucie Atwell was perfect for dad, I can just imagine him playing with one of these as a little boy. Actually it was probably a go-cart that he played with! I decoupaged the image and shaded the outside with distress inks.

Inks: Black document ink, Distress inks Antique linen and walnut stain
Card: Ivory
Stamp: Mabel Lucie Atwell Boy with car
Other: Prisma pencils and sansador to colour, silver pen

Yet another fabby tutorial (thank you for sharing Nathalia) but I didn’t make an accordion book I just used the idea to make this card.

I used grunge paper instead of chipboard.

Inks: Distress inks frayed burlap and walnut stain
Card: grunge paper, white card
Stamps: I stamped the inside using selective colouring with Marvy pens with various stampin up pocket silhouette stamps and Rubber stamp tapestry stamps having brayered lightly for the sky and ground first. The greeting is from stampin up cheer and wishes. Dragonfly on shrink plastic from Aspects of design 38 Daisy daydreams
Other: Ckalky emulsion French turquoise for the undercoat, Crackle paint Picket fence paint, eyelets, small terracotta pot, flowersoft and wire, lucky white heather (plastic), filigree button for the handle, shrink plastic dragon fly with some thin black wire for it’s legs.

You get the idea anyway.

Our 18th Anniversary card

This was not the original card I made for Harry but I lost the first one! It will turn up eventually – it is probably in amongst the Christmas cards I was making at the weekend.
I was going to add the green heart to the side of the greeting so that was why I had left larger space beside the greeting but then I changed my mind – which left a space and I didn’t notice until I had finished it. Doh!!!Inks: Adirondack woodlands, Distress ink frayed burlap
Card: Once upon a time stack, ivory card stock, Border for the greeting is Anna griffin label.
Stamp: Stampin up cheers and wishes
Other: heart coloured with lettuce alcohol ink, gold cord
