Dragonflies card

I made up some background paper first then made two similar but not identical cards with it.
This one was for Jessica and the other for Erin.
Firstly I dribbled some masking fluid down some watercolour paper and left it to dry.  Then I sprayed colour over it and sprinkled with some salt crystals and again waited until it dried.  I brushed away the salt then stamped the dragonflies, painted them with H2Os and once they were dry I coated them with diamond glaze.  I then stamped the dandelions and added little dots of stickles to highlight parts.  The quote is stamped and embossed on a slice of mica.  I like splattering gold over the top to get little highlights, I did try sprinkling gold embossing powder on the surface and heating from underneath but it tends to just melt right into the thick paper so I splattered with gold Krylon pen.

Border Collie Christmas card

I have been asked specifically to make a Christmas card with a Border Collie theme so my great friend Stuart helped out with a photo of his dog Chivas.  Chivas works as a mountain rescue dog so is quite used to snowy conditions but if you look closely at the photo he his hair gets clogged up with snow (snow balls indeed!).

Birthday card for one year old girl

Now then I don’t make very many children’s cards so I hope this one is ok for a one year old.

Brayered fairy landscape card

I love doing these brayered cards and this is a nice one for a female of any age group.  The project is from The craft stamper mag, April 2009 and at the last crop a few of the other ladies and I had a bit of a brayer workshop.  I added the punched leaves later.

Inks:  Memento Tuxedo black, Adirondack Red pepper, Cranberry and eggplant, Distress ink Mustard seed, Stampin up Mellow moss
Card:  white card, black card, green and black vellum
Stamps:  Lavinia stamps flower fairy, fern leaf, folliage and trailing ivy corner, (butterflies stamp was borrowed)

Male gardening birthday card

I have only ever made rather floral gardening cards for women but I was asked to make one for a man this time and you know what men are like about their lawns and tools.  So here is my more masculine gardening card.

Snowy owl photo Christmas card

This is another photo Christmas card but this time it is a beautiful snowy owl called Sweeney Todd.  The photograph was taken by John Harper who very kindly gave me permission to use it for this card.  The original  photograph’s colours are far better than the colours you see here  as my printer has altered them and my photograph of the card has also altered them slightly.  Sweeney Todd lives at The Hawk Conservancy Trust  (please respect the copyright on their photographs).
It is a very similar design to the moose card but with the addition of some white and silver sparkle ribbon down the left hand side and silver mirri card.

I have been asked recently to make a few  birthday cards and Christmas cards for a good friend of mind and they each were created with a particular theme in mind.  This one is a Christmas card with a Canadian wildlife theme.  I had nothing in my crafty stash that would do so Glenda Sykes very kindly gave me permission to use this photo from her website.  I don’t actually know the photographer’s name but thank you – it is a lovely photo.
The edges are embossed in silver and the layers are white card, dark silver card, more white card with silver angel hair mesh with silver brads, then the photo edged in silver.
