A few more Christmas cards for Henry.  The top one has an image of Callander House in the snow (with kind permission from Colin Plunkett photographer).  The tree cards all use Stampin up Lovely as a tree stamp set along with a bit of brayering for the background colour.

Border Collie Christmas card

I have been asked specifically to make a Christmas card with a Border Collie theme so my great friend Stuart helped out with a photo of his dog Chivas.  Chivas works as a mountain rescue dog so is quite used to snowy conditions but if you look closely at the photo he his hair gets clogged up with snow (snow balls indeed!).

Snowy owl photo Christmas card

This is another photo Christmas card but this time it is a beautiful snowy owl called Sweeney Todd.  The photograph was taken by John Harper who very kindly gave me permission to use it for this card.  The original  photograph’s colours are far better than the colours you see here  as my printer has altered them and my photograph of the card has also altered them slightly.  Sweeney Todd lives at The Hawk Conservancy Trust  (please respect the copyright on their photographs).
It is a very similar design to the moose card but with the addition of some white and silver sparkle ribbon down the left hand side and silver mirri card.

I have been asked recently to make a few  birthday cards and Christmas cards for a good friend of mind and they each were created with a particular theme in mind.  This one is a Christmas card with a Canadian wildlife theme.  I had nothing in my crafty stash that would do so Glenda Sykes very kindly gave me permission to use this photo from her website.  I don’t actually know the photographer’s name but thank you – it is a lovely photo.
The edges are embossed in silver and the layers are white card, dark silver card, more white card with silver angel hair mesh with silver brads, then the photo edged in silver.

A Few more Christmas cards

Again using the masterboard method I made the background paper but this time using bashful blue and sage green ink. I had a special request for a card with dragonflies and a snowy background so this was the design I came up with. I was so pleased with it that I made a few more with this background and a couple more with fusible fibre and film dragonflies like these ones. You can’t really tell from this photo but this card also has gems, stickles and sprinkles of silver embossing for a nice sparkly effect.

The following card is for Rachel my stampin up supplier. There are many cards with this theme about: Santa and his sleigh flying over the roof tops or over the trees so this is my version.

What a busy time of year for crafters. I have, like many others, been making a few Christmas cards in the last few weeks. Here is a small selection made using the tutorial in Craft Stamper mag (Dec 09 issue) by Jo Firth-young for making your own master board. Christmas cards are not my favourite ones to make as I don’t like making them all the same so I like to come up with different designs, even if there is only a slight variation it allows each person to have a unique card. Now I know if I started making Christmas cards in June then I would have time to make ALL my Christmas cards but I really can’t get my head into Christmas mode in June so I still end up buying charity cards too.

Michelle Zindorf has a fab tutorial which I used for this card. I changed a couple of elements but I got the same overall effect.

Lacy Christmas tree card

Well I have just spent a couple of hours cleaning the kitchen so there is not a crumb any where so I thought I deserved a little craft time. Here is another card for the CBC Christmas challenge a day; day two. The challenge is to use colours red, green and gold.

Here I have had a wee play with some gold webbing spray. It actually looks great on darker colours but it isn’t too bad on pale green.

Ink: colorbox chalk ink lime pastel
Paper: stampin up summer picnic
Embossing folder: cutlebug Lace Christmas tree (run through a wizard)
Krylon gold webbing spray
gold/green coloured gems
gold star
red ribbon
