Dragon fly card

dragonflyBirthdaySml

I was finding it difficult to come up with new ideas for some cards and even after flicking through some old magazines and books I still couldn’t come up with any thing.  But I then started to look back at some previous cards I have made I got an idea from 2 previous designs that I joined together.  This is made using the watercolour technique and stamps where you ink up your stamp and spritz the stamp with water before stamping onto water colour paper.

Inks:  Adirondack Wild plum, Red pepper, Terra cotta, Stream, Lettuce, and Oregano

Card:  water colour paper, old olive card, ivory card

Stamps:  Clarity stamps Dandelion heads, Satampin up Pocket silhouettes, unknown dragonfly stamp, Papertrey ink Out on a limb sentiments

Other:  Stampin up hardware, Tiny mosaic Cranberry, East of India ribbon

Grunge board bracelets.

I hope everyone enjoyed the festivities over Christmas time and didn’t indulge too much with all that Christmas spirit and goodies.  It is almost back to ‘normal’ in our household so I should have more time for some crafting.  The snow has almost gone along with the freezing temperatures which means my craft room will be at a more comfortable temperature to work in.

Here are a few things I made as little extra Christmas gifts (colours all look a bit odd on the photos):
You can find great tutorials at billies craft room on you tube for these.

Daisy grungeboard bracelet
Inks: White stazon, black acylic paint
Card:  grunge board
Stamps:  Aspects of design Daisy daydreams
Other:  black stickles, white fabric flower with various metals centres and pearl brad, Tim Holtz hitch fastener
The pendant was made as the one above and the silver filligree ring was made with a similar flower.  I punched a hole in the ring for the brad to hold the flower onto it.  This can be removed and a different flower or other embellishment added.

Water colour dragonfly

I made this card a few days ago for a friend’s birthday using the water colour technique on Tim Holtz blog September 2008 technique challenge

Inks: Adirondack; red pepper, bottle, lettuce, oregano, stream, stonewashed, terra cotta and wild plum, and Archival coffee for the quote
Stamps: Lavinia stamps dandelion, Stampin up Pocket silhouettes and a free dragonfly stamp from craft stamper (I think)
Cards stock: old olive, plain white and scraps of brown paper
The scrap of paper and a beige brad have been coated in embossing ink and distress powder to give a nice texture to the embellishment..
