Tag card for mum

artTagMum2011sml

For those of you who read the Craft Stamper mag you will recognise this immediately.  I have used Helen Chilten’s article in the Craft stamper Nov. 2011 issue.   I did vary a  few of the stamps and as I didn’t have pearls I used little glass beads instead.
The top tag has an image of a woman painting and a caption up the left side saying ‘the art of painting’ which is appropriate for my mum as she is a very good artist.
You maybe can’t tell from my photo but the top tag has a portion cut away and the tag is then layered onto another with 3D pads.  Mine is not quite as 3D as Helen’s. I added another shabby tag with ribbon so it would still open like a greetings card.

Card:  Crafty individuals Tags Landscape and Shabby
Inks:  Distress inks Faded jeans, Victorian velvet, Shabby shutters, Aged mahogany, Peeled paint, Milled lavender and Stormy sky
Stamps:  Crafty individuals 207, monogram D (unknown), The Artistic Stamper Ephemera
Other:  wire, blue beads, button, ribbon

uk stampers weekly challenge tag week 39

angelLoveSml

Sadly my photography is not getting any better!  This tag was made for the ukstampers challenge for week 39 which had to include:

  • stamped text background
  • a found object
  • and an image of an angel

I stamped the main image, masked it, then stamped the text background but only on the right and left sides of the tag is the text actually visible after I had cut it to size. The found object is the gold coloured heart.  I don’t know where it came from but I know I didn’t buy it so it is probably off the middle of a bra, or an old project, or an old piece of jewellery.

Inks:  Stampin up Soft suede, Distress inks Frayed burlap and Old paper, embossing ink with gold powder
Card:  white silk card
Stamps:  medieval angel romance stamp and text stamp (unknown but possibly Elusive images??), LB Venaissance (sides)
Other:  copics to colour, gold embossing powder, gold eyelet, ribbon, glitter pen (sheen on wings), gold coloured heart

uk stampers weekly challenge tag week 36

frostyLeavesSml

This tag (for week 36 in the ukstampers challenge) is so much nicer in real life as you can really see the twinkle.  This weeks challenge had to include:

  • a leaf as a stencil
  • paint
  • doodling

Inks:  Brilliance Platinum planet, Versacraft white, Colorbox French blue and Ice blue
Card:  white card
Stamps:  A stamp in the hand Field of sky (for the snow), Lavinia stamps Icicles
Other:  Dried pressed leaves, glitter pen, diamond glaze, white acrylic paint, white opaque pen, fibres, silver eyelet

I used the leaves as a stencil and dabbed the blue chalk inks over them then dabber a little Platinum planet over the tops.  You can just make out some veining on the leaves as these were the same ones I used for the previous tag so there was a little residual ink left on them.  The snow was stamped using the white ink and the icicles using the Platinum planet ink. I spattered some white paint over the whole tag to give an extra snowy effect.  My doodling is actually the 3 spiders webs in the foliage – using the white pen and highlighted with the glitter pen.  The icicles were highlighted using the glitter pen too and also diamond glaze.  I took the glitter pen all around the edges too.

uk stampers weekly challenge tag week 35

fallLeavesSml

Long overdue but finally had a bit of time to play so here is my tag for week 35 to include:

  • embossing powder
  • a leaf as a stencil
  • paint

Inks:  Memento Tuxedo black, Distress inks Barn door, Forest moss and Wild honey
Card:  white card, tissue paper
Stamps:  Lavinia stamps Fall,
Other:  dried pressed leaves, acrylic paint daubers copper and gold, Distress stickles Peeled paint, embossing powder Ochre, Verdigris and Hollyberry red gold, metal leaf charm coloured with Sharpies, mixed fibres, bronze eyelet

I started by using my pressed leaves as stencils and stippled the distress inks over them, then gave the tag a light spray with water to blend the colours a little.  Once dry I sprinkled the embossing powders over the tag and heated from beneath to melt them.  I dabbed the paints sporadically.  The falling fairy and seed were both stamped onto the tissue paper, cut out and glued onto the tag using diluted PVA. I dabbed some of my maidenhair leaves with the paint too, then once they were dry I embellished the base of the tag with them.  The edges were finished off using the distress stickles  To finish it off I added the coloured charm and fibres.
