Vintage shabby card

vintageShabbySml

This card was inspired by an article by Rachel Jackson in Craft Stamper mag. June 2010.  I have kept to the same colours and roughly to the same design but used different stamps  and embellishments.  I don’t have re-inkers to colour the tissue paper background so I just wiped the ink pads onto my craft sheet and spritzed it with water.  I crumpled up the tissue paper and spread it out on the craft sheet and gently pushed it around until it took up the colour.  If I do this one again I might use vintage lace instead of the ribbon and add some distress stickles to the crown.

Inks:  Distress inks Tattered rose, Antique linen and Brushed corduroy, versamark with white embossing powder
Card:  white card, ivory card, white tissue paper
Stamps:  Anna Griffin border, Vennaisance feathers, greeting (unknown)
Other:  ribbon, pearls

The ukstampers challenge for this week’s tag is ‘V’ for vintage so I made this Mucha style tag. I think the stamp is from a print called Polyanthus .

Card: ivory
Stamps: Polyanthus (unknown), Stampin up Totally tabs, ivy and flourish (unknown), Dovecraft Fantasy fairies (drooping flower), tiny leaves are from Papertreyink out on a limb set
Other: gems, gold eyelet, computer generated words, I drew in the lines and ‘V’ with gold Pilot pen and sprinkled a little embossing powder on the ‘V’ too.

Vintage ATCs

I have made three different ATCs for the ukstampers ATC swap for May. This month’s theme is Vintage; which can mean different things to different people…so….

vintageCar

This is a vintage car stamped onto vellum and stuck onto backing paper with the sign, in a lighter colour, underneath so it stands out. The top and bottom edges are just cut paper.

Ink: black documents ink
Card: beige vellum, paper from Hot off the press-Heritage
Stamp: B line designs car cube

vintagePhoto

This one is a vintage photo. I rubbed Distress ink over white glossy card then inked the stamp with espresso, wiped a little off and added caramel fondant then stamped onto the card. I layered the image over some script vellum and ivory card, and added photo corners cut form scrap paper. I added a touch of pink to her shoes and belt using a copic marker and tiny gem.

Inks: Adirondack espresso, Stampin up caramel fondant, Distress ink antique linen
Card: glossy white, ivory, script vellum, scrap brown wood grain paper
Stamp: ballet dancer (unknown)
Other: pink gem and copic marker tender pink

vintageWine

Vintage wine was stamped then coloured using water colour pencils. I added a label, vellum, brad and a sprig with grapes to embellish it. The grapes are highlighted with a little Diamond glaze. I edged the ATC with gold wax and smudge a little wax over it to age it a little.

Inks: black document ink, versamark with gold embossing powder
Card: white, Label: green card embossed and rubbed with gold wax, gold paper embossed
Stamps: Aspects of design 6 – nature, WS designs wine set
Other: beige vellum, bronze brad, metallic rub on wax, Diamond glaze

November ATC swap

vintageVetvet

I finally finished my ATCs for the CBC swap, the theme this month was vintage or velvet so I incorporated both. The gold leafing was done first by running the blank card through a xyron then dunking the sticky side onto the gold leaf. I then took a stiff brush and brushed off the excess gold leaf. Parts of the ribbon were coloured with brown permanent pen. The velvet bit it the brown material cut from an old top, and the vintage parts are pictures.
