Our 18th Anniversary card

our18thB

This was not the original card I made for Harry but I lost the first one! It will turn up eventually – it is probably in amongst the Christmas cards I was making at the weekend.
I was going to add the green heart to the side of the greeting so that was why I had left larger space beside the greeting but then I changed my mind – which left a space and I didn’t notice until I had finished it. Doh!!!Inks: Adirondack woodlands, Distress ink frayed burlap
Card: Once upon a time stack, ivory card stock, Border for the greeting is Anna griffin label.
Stamp: Stampin up cheers and wishes
Other: heart coloured with lettuce alcohol ink, gold cord

Garage scrapbook pages

garageA
garageB
Here are a couple of 8 x 8 inch scrapbook pages based on a layout posted by Sue for a CBC challenge. We demolished the single garage and had a double garage built on that spot. It used to house the motor bike and a car but now is more like overspill from the house. It has no heating in there so gets really chilly and damp in winter.

Inks: Black document ink, Colorbox fluid chalk inks
Card: Cosmo cricket
Stamps: Stampin up Loads of love (pick-up truck) and totally tabs, Dimensional fourth (bike)
Other: coloured pens for the wavy lines

X marks the spot tag

xMarksSpot
And finally X. The theme for the ukstampers weekly challenge No. 59 is X marks the spot and you see here I have used the crosshairs of sights to signify the X marking the spot.

Inks: black document ink, Distress inks black soot and walnut stain
Card: white, acetate ‘x’
Stamps: Stampers anonymous Mini muse, Tim Holtz foam stamps Chronicles
Other: eyelet, hole punch

Swirls and flourishes ATCs

dragonSwirl
plumGreenSwirl
blackWireSwirl
My three ATCs for the ukstampers swap using swirls and flourishes stamps. I made the backgrounds first by brayering some ink onto the glossy card stock and spraying with a little thin bleach to get the white speckled bits. The background to the dragon ATC was actually my practice piece of card which I stamped with Versamark before I brayered with the coloured ink and I sprayed with too much bleach. I sprayed some magenta over a flourish mask onto it and I really liked the look so it became one of my swaps.

(NOTE: be careful spraying bleach as you DO NOT want to breathe it in and it can leave a fine mist of bleach on surrounding surfaces)

Inks: Marvy blending blocks Shade of blue and Shades of olive, Kaleidacolor rainbow pad Calypso, Versamark, Distress ink Fired brick, Memento Rhubarb stalk, black document ink
Card: Glossy white card, black card
Stamps: Impression Obsession Flourishes, Dovecraft Fantasy clear stamps Emblems, Basic Grey Flourish corners
Other: wire, gems, Stickles: burgundy, waterfall, lime, silver, glitter pen, bleach, magenta spray, silver pen

Halloween ATCs

halloween2

A couple of fun ATCs for the CBC October swap. The theme is any thing beginning with O or the month October. No stamping just stickers and rub-ons for these two but I kinda like them. They are the same size but I took the photo at a jaunty angle so my shadow would not be over them.

Materials: stickers, rub-ons, stickles, orange pens to colour peel-0ff Hi, clear arrow, Bo Bunny card

ukstampers Sunday challenge O for Oriental

oriental3Sml
This is my Oriental tag for the ukstampers Sunday challenge No. 58 O for Oriental. The Faux cloisonné article by Carole Cann in the Craft stamper mag Jul9 09 was my inspiration for this. As usual I didn’t have the same materials and I thought I could use gold leaf instead of gold fun foil. Well I could, just not in the same way that Carole used the foil. I had to use sticky stuff embossing powder to get it to stick properly but I got there in the end. The edging to the tag was done by using gold leafing glue on a dry brush and stoking it roughly on to give a kind of feathered edge inside. The tag was then sprayed all over with the glimmer mist. Little particles from the glimmer mist got into the wee spaces and it looks a bit like a crackle effect. I didn’t have a leaf stamp that went with the design so I stamped a few dragonflies and used the wings as leaves. The small piece that looks like filigree is paper lace that has gold leaf put onto the sticky back of the lace.

Inks: versamark
Card: black, turquoise iridescent, purple pearlised
Stamps: Hero arts Four dolls (small flowers), free stamp from Craft stamper (large flower), Non sequitur Oriental collage elements (dragonfly wings for the leaves)
Other: gold leaf, Judikins Sticky stuff embossing powder, H2Os to colour, Glimmer mist Sweet pea, Diamond glaze, gems, Grunge board O, cloisonné bead, turquoise wire with gold findings, Lakeland paper lace border
