uk stampers weekly challenge tag week 34
- paint
- fabric
- embossing powder
I actually went through a lot of decisions before I ended up with this one. I was going to do some image transfer onto fabric, changed my mind and thought about using the fabric I had already coloured and stamped onto, then changed my mind again and used the flames from my Betty Boop fabric. There is red and black embossing powder on the edges (even though it looks white at the bottom – that is just reflection). The tag was painted red. The skeleton was embossed with black powder then coloured in white Gesso. This was then very lightly sponged with Rusty hinge to take away the brightness of the white. The edges were stamped with black Stazon and distressed with Black soot and Fired brick. The flames from the fabric were stuck to down then red embossing powder was sprinkled over the bottom half of the tag and heated from below. The flames still looked a bit bright so I went over them lightly with some distress ink Black soot. I did manage to get a bubble under the paint when I as in a hurry to dry it but actually I don’t think it matters.

uk stampers weekly challenge tag week 33
This challenge was to encorpoate:
- fabric
- a crown
- paint
Well I found this challenge difficult, just couldn’t come up with any ideas until today. I was going for a kind of rags to riches theme by using an old loose weave cloth torn randomly and stuck to a piece of white card which I had previously painted or rather sloshed and dabbed with gay abandon. The crown was an embellishment which I embossed in gold. The trail of gold from the crown to the bottom is just gold embossing powder melted from beneath the tag.

Brayered embossing folder anniversary card
This took a little practice but I finally achieved the look I was aiming for: a misty sunset glow in a woodland. I brayered white coated card with Big and juicy Spice ink, embossed it using a Cuttle bug folder then using direct to paper technique swiped the brown across the branches. To get the misty look I sprayed it with a fine mist of water with a little gold powder then left it to dry.
Inks: Big and Juicy Spice, Adirondack Woodland
Card: white coated card, green textured, brown pearlised
Stamp: Stampin up Cheers and wishes
Other: brown linen thread, Camelot Rose (tinted with a little Spice ink to match), gold powder
uk stampers weekly challenge tag week 32
This is the 3rd attempt to get this tag finished – it didn’t all go according to plan and it still doesn’t look right to me. It looks like the dragon it in mid air and not grounded. You get the general idea of what I was going for. The challenge was to incorporate:
- fabric
- dots
- a crown
The fabric is red velvet paper (hope I get away with that as I couldn’t find my piece of red velvet), black dots are along the hinges and door straps and silver dots on the chalice, the crown is sitting on top of the pile of jewels.
Inks: Black memento ink, Distress inks Black soot and Pumice stone
Card: white card, red velvet paper,
Stamps: medieval set (unknown origin)
Other: gems, gold beading, crown, glossy accents, copics to colour, eyelet, bunch of keys
Entwined hummingbirds birthday card
I have tried to keep it simple but I am one of these people who just wants to add more so it was hard for me to just stop there.
The image was stamped first onto the card then coloured using sponges through a mask I made by cutting out the circle areas around the hummingbirds. It looked a bit too plain and I thought about adding borders or glitter etc but went for matching ribbon and fibres instead.
Inks: Memento Onyx black, Distress inks Barn door and Mustard seed
Card: white card
Stamps: Clarity Entwined hummingbirds
Other: black organza ribbon, fibres
